Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Myself:

Since I entered the clinical psychology field during adulthood, there wasn't much discouragement on my journey. If anything, I received a lot of support from my family.

  • How I responded:

I am someone who decided to change my career in my 40s, as I feel a lot more fulfilled being committed to a job that involved human connection and helping families. I am a mother of 3 kids and felt that going into the field of clinical psychology will help me as a parent as well. My word of advice in regards to becoming a therapist would be to do whatever feels natural to you, whether that'd be MFT or for those who suffer from addiction.
