Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Society in general:

Translation is not a career, why aren't you working as a lawyer?

  • How I responded:

I focused on what would make me happy. Being passionate about my work is more important than a salary or perceived social status. Even though I went to Law school and I am a licensed attorney, I decided not to practice for most of my career. However, I have used the knowledge acquired in Law school for other jobs, like Paralegal Specialist and Legal Translator.
