My path in life has been direct
1.
After graduating from Highland High School in 2010, I continued my education at UC Irvine where I received my bachelor’s degree in public health sciences.
2.
I changed occupations a few times, but ultimately wanted to be closer to my dream career.
3.
I earned my EMT certification in November of 2019 as I continued my work as a medical scribe.
4.
Since my ultimate goal is to become a Registered Nurse, I have been completing the prerequisites for nursing school at Coastline Community College.
5.
Since 2017, I have been fulfilling my position in the ER as a medical scribe as I work towards becoming a Registered Nurse.

How I responded:
People’s doubt does make you question whether or not you should be doing this and makes you momentarily believe that this isn’t for you. I take into consideration that everybody has their own expectations and if I do not meet them, it is not because I am not good enough. Despite the fact that we are trained to do our job a certain way, I am always eager to learn how to turn a good job into an exceptional job.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
The bad days make me question if this is the right field for me. There are days you lose, days where you don't save lives. It's a difficult reality to face every shift.
