    Messages from Teachers:

I was asked if I was sure I wanted to become an arts administrator multiple times because I was such a good performer. It was well meaning but it made me feel like I was disappointing some people in my life who could only imagine me in one way.

  • How I responded:

My choice to work as as arts administrator wasn't accidental nor was it giving up on a career in performance. It was giving me the capacity to celebrate and sustain my own creative voice. I was able to build off of my instincts which has led me to a career where I get to help others do the same.
