Messages from Society in general:
It’s a tough field to be in as a women. You may not be able to lift or do things men can.
How I responded:
1) I Kept telling myself that as long as i proved everyone that I’m a hard worker, it wouldn’t matter whether I was a man or a woman. 2) I told them that even though I am not as strong as I men. I know my limitations but I also know when to ask for help, and that doesn’t make me weak.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
All my family is back in Mexico. I had to work full time while going to school in order to be able to afford life. I applied for scholarships and financial aid. But I never thought of quitting school because of money.
