Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
You won't make it, you don't have what it takes, you're not smart enough, something like that isn't for you.
How I responded:
Use the noise, use it to drive you. Success is the best revenge. Let them keep talking while you put in the time and effort in silence, as time goes, your silence/success will overcome all the noise.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I came from a single parent home, my parents divorced and was just my brother, sister and I. We lived off of one income.
I was surrounded by gangs and violence, from my family being in gangs and that life trying to suck me in. I am just glad for sports.
I was always the fat kid, up until my sophomore year of high school, I was picked on and made fun of all the years til then.
