Decided to stick with Piano Lessons, Age 14.

Joined my first band and started writing pop songs, Age 18.

Who are you kidding? You can't be as good as the other musicians putting out music, what do you have to offer?
How I responded:
Instead of sitting around listening to my own thoughts, I took action. Doing something physical (playing the piano, recording a vocal track, mixing a song) is a great way to take your mind off things, and then when you stop and take a break and you listen back, you realize, "Hey, maybe I shouldn't have been so negative, this sounds pretty cool."
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I had a lot of stress and pressure at my old job (not music related). I spent all my free time playing piano and writing songs. When it started to become the focus of all my energy and my thoughts, I realized it was time to make a full-time switch.
