Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
Growing up I was always made fun of by my peers, and sometimes my friends, for being a "nerd" or a "geek". This is because I valued learning and getting good grades or because I didn't want to hang out on the corner getting in trouble with the rest of the kids.
How I responded:
Don't let your friends or peers define who you are. I became a better and stronger person by staying the path and in the long run, I am more successful than the those individuals who made fun of me when I was younger.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
My parents didn't have higher than a middle school education and were never able to help me with my school work growing up. My parents were not financially wealthy, we would barely be classified as middle class, but I never let that define my path.
