Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
I was too delicate to be a manager - referring to my health. I have a chronic medical condition that could prevent me from performing if I let it. I am too nice.
How I responded:
Always see your cup as half full - take care of yourself but never feel sorry for yourself too long. Use your niceness to get what you want.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I have Crohn's Disease, which can be debilitating at times. Additionally, people always have an opinion on what you should or should not do. Make sure you know what is within your limitations, but never use your disability as a crutch.
