My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I decided I wanted to be a counselor and help heal and create healthy marriages.
2.
Majored in psychology in college.
3.
Went to grad school to get my MFT.
4.
Dropped out of grad school to try working in the real world for awhile.
5.
Worked a few different jobs in different areas and then was unemployed for 9 months.
6.
Worked on my own blog, speaking to an audience of young women and worked on my writing.
7.
Got a job doing PR at my job now and grew into a position I didn't know I wanted at first.
8.
Am learning how to balance my love for my career and the passions I have to live a full life.

Messages from Peers:
Being a marriage counselor would be really hard and stressful. Why would you want to listen to people's problems all day long? You're too young to counsel couples, especially since you aren't married yourself.
How I responded:
You have been given specific gifts and talents for a reason. And just because someone else doesn't understand your desire to do those things, doesn't mean your calling is any less true. You're never too young or too inexperienced to make a difference. And you can still make a difference in a place that isn't your day job. Continue seeking your passions outside of work and never stop doing that thing that makes you feel most alive.
