My Day to Day

I teach kids about the technological world around them. I have six class periods per day with one period for lesson development or whatever I need to get done, which is sometimes subbing for my absent colleagues. We use the engineering design process to design and solve real-world problems. We design and fabricate race cars, make prosthetic legs, robotics, space and flight, electronics, and more.

  • More than once, my presence and qualifications have been questioned by my colleagues. Despite those negative experiences, I've always had the mindset that if I prove to people that I'm good at what I do, then my gender and color won't matter.
