Day In The Life Of A Critical Care Nurse

My Day to Day

My work varies and depends on the shift. I spend lots of time in patients’ rooms. My tasks range from medication administration to checking chest tubes and drains, to neurological checks, to pulmonary hygiene. Also there is a lot of interprofessional communication such as physical therapists, residents, case managers and social workers, nurse managers, and pharmacists. Everything is coordinated for the patient and must be tailored to their respective needs and choices.
